Background

The Electronic Structure Ruler (referred to as ESR in the following information) is a new Chemistry Model founded on the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements and which is mainly defined as a research tool and didactical support for the study and determination of the electronic configuration of the chemical elements.

At the same time, the ESR is a new scientific contribution that gathers relevant information of each chemical element with the sole objective to aid the student through the research process as well as for the teaching-learning of specific chemical science topics in middle, middle high, high and superior school levels.

The didactic ESR carries important characteristics for the user such as:

1. Information of the chemical elements distributed in three main groups: a) thermal properties b) electronic properties c) physical properties.
2. Accessible design which allows a quick and effective reference throughout the tables where the chemical elements are arranged in alphabetical order.
3. Didactical models both in Spanish as well as in English.

Having the Electronic Structure Ruler, gives a valuable opportunity to generate a positive impact in the growth and development in the learning process of Mexico’s academic communities, finding it necessary to create a Web site with the fully purpose of successfully accomplishing three objectives which are further described.

First Objective

To promote and hand out a free sample of the model ESR to teachers as well as students.

The Electronic Structure Ruler is a new scientific contribution of valuable use to students, making it important to promote and facilitate the model through this web site in order to help and collaborate in the Chemical Science Education.

Second Objective:

To promote, build and develop a Scholarship Fund through the web site in order to support future College and University students.

The progressive development in Mexico’s society greatly depends on the education of professional people from which their knowledge and skills in their fields provoke an unfolding imagination towards creating new techniques, processes, methodology, products and/or business opportunities that commit them to their families and community’s well-being.

The making and development of the scholarship fund can be achieved before the identified opportunity to offer publicity spaces to all those companies, businesses and persons that would like to sponsor the free access to the ESR by making a monthly contribution. (Tax Deductible).

The income generated by concept of publicity will be assigned to the Scholarship Department at Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Campus Monterrey who will be administrating these resources and fully provide them to the following beneficiaries:

• Students holding Scholarships granted by AEMAC ( Baja California’s Student Association).
• Candidate students for a Scholarship of Excellence.
• Candidate students for a financed scholarship.

Third Objective:

To promote and emphasize to our scholarship held students as well as to our community the importance of moral principles which nourish and strengthens our Mexican population.

It is our duty to be consciously aware of all misconduct and absurd attitudes which constantly threatens family integrity and union.

Today, more than ever lessons on principles, values and good lifestyles are important and vital for our future generations. Through them we will recognize true personal and communitarian growth, enlightening our mind which orchestrates expansion and progress.

This objective will be pursued by the ESR project, promoting and emphasizing the importance of values in our community through our space provided for this purpose.
